To All Indy Fans:

I know that the Herbert Johnson is the ultimate Indy hat. Well,
since I know that in some areas we're in the dark about, so I thought,
since I just orderd my Poet today I may say my ways in dealing with
Mr. Johnson(or Mr. Swales). One thing is that Mr. Swales only visists
the shop Wednesday and Friday. Otherwise, he's making hats. Now, the
thing you want is a POET. Not a McAlpine. The McAlpine is not the
totally authenic hat...it's the Poet. The otherthing is you must
convert you head size into the euro standard. Meaning, my head
size is 7 1/4. Well, when I told them that, they though I was speaking
Greek. They are going to ask for your head size in centimeters. So,
if you head size is 7 1/8, your hat size to them will be 57. If your
head size is 7 1/4, your hat size is 59. Another thing to say is that
the day I orderd mine is 11/11/99. They told me that it would not be
until three or four weeks until the Poets came in, yet...they were
expecting them soon(they're out of McAlpines, too.). The color you
want is sable, which they told me is a dark tan. You can get you
initials in the hat if you want; it's free. The man accepts credit
cards. Please also take into consideration that London is not on
our same time schedule(duh)so you can't call them when you get home
from work(duh). The total cost of the hat with shipping and
handeling and customs, Iam told, is 300 smackers. From what people
say, it's worth it. Hope this helps you all. Will write when more when I get my hat.
