Apocalypse Now has some ToD similarities...

Hey guys, has anyone seen Apocalypse Now? Excellent film. Albeit
extremely weird at the end. Anyways, I recently watched the film
again, and there seemed to be some slight similarities to Temple of
Doom. First off, when Martin Sheen finally reaches Colonel Kurtz at
Cambodia, a whole bunch of Cambodian people start gathering around
Martin Sheen, they start raising their hands up to him like he's some
sort of God (though I don't think that's the intention Coppola
wanted). That is just like when all the village people started
gathering around Indy, Wille, and Short Round in ToD. The only
difference between the scenes here is that in Apocalypse Now, they end
up flipping over Martin Sheen. Also, in the Cambodian sequences the
lighting and basically the look of those scenes seems kinda similar to
the smoke and lighting in the jungle when Indy sees the statue of Kali
or something and also the interior of the underground temple. Hmmm,
I'm wondering, is Apocalypse Now a small inspiration for ToD.
Probably not that big.
