: : Having acquired a Noel Howard bag today - see below. Can anyone tell me a good method of cleaning the bag?

: : IndyGear says take the strap off and bung it in the washer with some towels, but I can't get my strap off. And will water damage the leather strap?

: Try hand washing in your kitchen sink if you can't remove the strap. Don't use dish washing liquid. You'll play hob trying to rinse that out. Use laundry soap, lather up inside and out without getting the strap wet, then totally rinse with clear water. Now either place entire bag/strap in a pillow case, tie the end shut, and toss into a dryer on low heat, or hang and allow to air dry. It will take a while, though, as canvas is pretty heavy and drys slowly. Regards. Michaelson
