If you're on the level with the stone gears on the floor, you must line them up using the two controls on the floor just above you. You have to line them up with each door, then use the rotation of the statue to turn the gears to open them. It's best to open them all first as opposed to opening the door, then going after the jewel, then open the next door, etc. Because the commies will start shooting you when the time comes to open the last door.

I just started level 16 last night. It kinda hurts the eyes!
