I would HIGHLY advise anyone who wants to see Indiana Jones
the way it was meant to be seen (in widescreen) to buy the new
letterbox edition of the trilogy. The noticeable difference is in
the packaging: the sides of the tapes are a reddish/ maroon as
opposed to the yellow color of the non-widescreen tapes. (that and
the fact that the box says WIDESCREEN on it) I made the mistake of
buying the first boxed set that I happened across, and actually got
home before I realized that it wasn't the letterbox edition!!!
I had to go to a video specialty store to obtain the letterbox
edition, which only costed me $26. As for the films: they are absolutely incredible!!! I can barely put it into words. The only
film I saw in theaters was Last Crusade, in May of 89' so I have
never seen Raiders or Temple of Doom the way that everyone else did
back in 1981 and 1984. I was completely blown away at how clear the
picture is and the details that shine through in letterbox!!!
Letterbox over pan and scan ANY day!!!
