Does anyone know Indy's history between YIJC and Raiders?

Hello all! Recently, I have been toying with the idea of a new fan fiction story with Indy and Abner, which would be a series of several stories. However, I have found post- Young Indy but pre-Raiders history a bit vague. If anyone has read some of the Indy books based int he twenties, maybe you can help me. Does Indy carry his whip and pistol early in his career? When does he meet Abner? Marion? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
