Yes, River Pheonix did do an excellent job. Still, I preferred Sean Patrick Flannery, although I don't think he got all the mannerisms down as well. River was certainly better than Cory Carrier, with whom he's more comparable in terms of the age at which they're all supposed to be Indy. (Cory, 9-11, River, 13, Flannery, 17-21, HF 36-? [or 22-? if you go by the cover illustrations on the MacGregor novels], George Hall, 93.)
