You need the key to the lock. You get it from the cave below you. jump accross to the other side of the broken bridge. I jumped to the lower bridge, then over to the island and climbed the ladder up to the other side of the broken brige. Cut the bridge with your machete and it will fall make a ladder. Go back to the other side and go down the ladder. There is a cave at the bottom. Explore in that cave. I'm still not sure I know exactly where you are. That chapter was hard. I had to use a coulpe of different walkthru's to get through it.
