: Hi All,

: My girlfriend just bought me the Infernal Machine. When I started
: the installation process, it asked me whether I wanted to do the
: "standard installation" (approx. 56MB) or the "complete installation"
: (approx. 870MB). I assumed if I did the complete installation, I
: wouldn't need to have a CD in when playing the game. However, even
: with the complete installation, you need to insert a CD.

: Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the "standard" and
: "complete" installations? If there is an advantage to having the
: complete installation, I'd be willing to use 870MB of my hard drive;
: if not, I can always use the space for other things. Any help is
: greatly appreciated.

: Regards,

I first installed it with the Standard Installation, played a level or two, then uninstalled the game and reinstalled it using the the Complete Installation (which I currently have on my hard drive).

The data seems to process at a faster rate during play with the Complete Installation, since most of the data is already on the hard drive - as opposed to having to pull much of it off of the CD during play.

If you can afford the hard drive space (which it looks like you could), I would recommend the Complete Installation. But of course, it's up to you! :)
