On the Unsolved Mysteries episode where they featured the Grail, the people who keep it give water that has been poured into the grail and give it to the holy men and women that ask for water. These holy people put the water on small pieces of cloth that have, I think, the Our Father written on it and send it to sick people in need of healing.
There have been reports that people have been cured by it. I don't think the healing was psychologically, you know, "If you believe in it, it will heal you."
One of the people who recieved a Grail cloth had a tumor in her breast. She didn't really believe in the cloth, but just kept it around for good luck. A month later, she went to her doctor for a mamogram and found that the tumor was gone.
I'm not saying you're wrong. I have a few theories that might be able to link the "Grail" in England or Ireland, and the "Grail" in Spain.
