You've got to be on the block facing the post. You also have to walk forward
all the way to the edge. Then just pull out your whip and use it.

I had the same problem the first two times I tried, but my problem was that I was
not all the way on the edge. There is no "special" trick... its just where you stand
and where you are facing.
