Maybe Elsa climbed back up with it for all we know! :) The Grail had served its purpose in the story, so it really doesn't matter what became of it or the knight.

The chances are quite low that the Knight servived. Why?
(1) The temple crumbled down (on the inside) into smithereens.

(2) Rocks very likely covered the pit in which Elsa (and the Grail) fell into, thus destroying Elsa and the Grail.

Those are MY thoughts on (Most of) this whole situation.
