I have found 45 inch dress type (like the mentioned combat boot laces) at a shoe shop that have done MUCH better in terms of lacing, comfort control and longetivity. : My impression of the laces when I first received my 405's was that they would never make it a month. Eleven months later,and I'm still on the original laces. They look fine, but they just feel like they are going to snap when I wrap them around the hooks. I guess I'd better find some locally,as it appears from your posts that I'm on borrowed time.
