Yup. The scene was intended to be longer, with a small procession of people (including Belloq, who had just put on his new religious attire) taking the Ark out of a small tent to the final altar.

The documentary also features the now infamous bullwhip-swordman fight as it was originally being planned, with Ford doing several whip cracks while the Arab threatens him with the sword. Fortunately, this was paired down to the legendary "just shoot the fu*ker" scenario.
