Aww come on! Lara Croft has grown to be an independant and quite interesting character. I know the games are heavily inspired by Indy,
The fact that the Ark is in her cellar is just a celebration of the Indy films and a funny injoke (the golden idol from Raiders is in there too). You might aswell say that "infernal" is a Tomb Raider ripoff, and that's stupid. Why some people think that the two characters cannot exist side by side, and one of them have to be the "better" is beyond my comprehension.
