: Now what kinda "authentic" jacket is this? The real Indy jacket was supposedly dragged behind a truck and still held up, but the replicas fall apart after just days of wear....

: I'm also not too sure about the reliability of this "Peter" character. I ordered mine with satin lining, and it showed up with cotton. I've heard other stories of botched orders too. Someone ordered a distressed one that came undistressed. Other lining mishaps. Some special requests like silver zippers've been overlooked. And some poor sap got a Last Crusade jacket when he ordered a Raiders. Christ for 250 damn dollars and 3 months of a wait, these jackets oughta be the strongest and most durable jackets on Earth, they oughta be EXACTLY what was ordered, and they oughta age easier too. Hell...I've had mine for more than 6 months and it still looks brand-spankin' new. And I haven't been easy on it either.

: Well, to be fair, they actually used up several jackets in the filming of the famous "dragged behind the truck from a whip" scene, so even the original jackets are not quite THAT durable.

: I agree there have been some problems ordering from Wested, but I think you're overlooking the fact that we are extremely lucky they even make this jacket available to the general public. I can remember just over a year or so ago when you could even get an Indy jacket- not even a Cooper replica! I also don't think $250 is alot for a leather jacket. The price is very reasonable compared to other jackets. Having seen both the hide and skin versions, the hide versions seem to be a little more durable when it comes to stitching, since it's not as thin. Perhaps the delay in orders is caused in part by the fact that Wested is a bit overwhelmed by all the orders for jackets, thanks to the power of the internet. I don't know- just speculating. But I personally wouldn't be so harsh on Wested.

: Cheers,

I agree with Abner, my jacket turned out fine. All you ever hear about, or at least all anyone ever remembers, are the botched jobs. However, for the most part, I am sure Wested is rather reliable. I too consider it an honor that Mr. Botwright has even made the jacket available. On the other hand, I do completely understand your frustration.
Cheers,
Dienekes
