Everyone on this forum knows that Henry Jones Junior acquired the nickname Indiana from the Jones family dog (That's Indyfan Elementary) but did you know that the same thing applies to John Wayne?

John Wayne's birth name was Marion Morrison and as a child he had a dog named Duke. The family and friends started calling young Marion "Little Duke" and the nickname "Duke" stuck with him. No one ever called him John, it was always either Marion or Duke and in Hollywood it was always Duke. Named after the dog.
