Need some serious help here people

I'm at the place where there is that giant ice demon. I have that part of the infernal machine that I was suppose to get. But whenever I try to kill that ice demon with it the game shuts down and goes back to windows. And before it shuts down, the seal that you use to open the doors to get to the plant bulb appears in the bottom right hand corner. Whats goin on here? What do I need to do? Please help you guys. Thanx.
