: I got the idea from Patterson, and what it refers to is on the inside of the jacket right where the collar is sewn on there is an extra piece of leather at the bottom of the collar. Usually you find this on better made A-2 jackets. Regards, Steve

My first Wested came with the lining material on the inside of the collar, while it is plain from the films that leather was used. The area on the inside of the collar gets a lot of friction, as do the areas around the zipper near the waist. I had Peter add leather facings to both areas. You can see this on the pictures of my jacket at IndyGear - click on the first image, and it takes you to one of the inside of the jacket.
