I have asked this question many times myself, and have never seemed quite satisfied with the answer. Mainly people contend it was a Herbert Johnson, the same company that provided them for the films, but to me the hat looks too different in the following way
1.The hat looks too old and worn out
2.The shape of the hat seems to different (then again, so did each film hat)
3.The ribbon-this is my biggest argument, the ribbon, the bow actually, sometimes looks like it has a shape and design similar to, say, a Stetson than the HJ. It's hard to explain without pictures and such, but for the most part I've been told HJ. Oh well...
