First, you have to get four candles. They're found by rafting down certain part of the river (you'll probably be able to tell where a candle is-- they're in small huts). You'll have to go down the river a few times. Then, go back to the part where you have to pray, and place the candles there, one in each arm on the pedestal. Once you have that done, light each one with you lighter. You'll then be able to cross the river. Hope this helps a bit. Sorry that I can't be more detailed.
