I'm a little tired of LucasFilm acting as though George Lucas is "hands-on" every aspect of LucasFilm!! That's impossible!! Anyone else share these feelings? (nm)

In Reply to: Lucas on Why no Star Wars DVD -- could it be the same reason for Indy, too? posted by Brett (Maverick) Lambert on January 07, 2000 at 13:57:17:

: I was checking out theforce.net and came upon this piece of news
: explaining why there isn't going to be a TPM DVD... yet.

: Read this:

:
: Lucasfilm on why no DVD

: If you're looking for an official explanation as to why there's no
: Episode I DVD, this is about as close as you're going to get short of
: asking Uncle George yourself. Hollywood.Com has the following quote:

: "George would love to do something special with the DVD release,
: but he won't do it until he has time to concentrate on it," said Lynne
: Hale, a spokeswoman for Lucasfilms Ltd.
: "Right now he's writing the script for 'Episode II,' then we go right
: into principal photography this summer in Australia. And after that,
: he'll be working on 'Episode III,' so it could be some time before
: he's able to devote the time needed to work on the DVD," Hale said.
:

: I have a feeling that could be the same reason why there isn't a Indy
: DVD. I doubt very much that Indy DVD will be out in March since there
: is no TPM DVD yet. Afterall guys, Star Wars is top priority for
: Lucasfilm, Indy... about a distant 2nd place. Of course, I could be
: wrong, and I hope I'm wrong.
