More specifically:

: 1) The HJ hat. How close to the original does it look? I've read some posts on this board claiming the Custom Hatter looks closer to the original. Is this true? Any info on this hat you could give me would be appreciated. Color, shape, anything. No detail is too small. I'm a purist and would like our "event" next year to be as close as possible.

: 2) How about the Wested? Some say the original Raiders in Lambskin is the best. But I've also read that the distressed LC is better as it's made from a thicker hide. Is the distressed still dark? Again. Details, details.

: 3) Anything else you can tell me.

Can't honestly comment on the jacket, mine is ordered but only recently. From what I understand, the new lambskin is the way to go if you are only gonna own only one. I think the Raiders is the most popular. I am the one who has been touting the Gary white fedora as being more accurate, at least to the Raiders fedora which is my personal favorite of the 3 different hats used in the movies. I doubt if ole HJ even uses the same hat as was used in any of the 3 movies, but I have no proof concerning this. Just my own subjective opinion and nothing else. Both fedoras have one thing in common, they both have the taller crowns, 5 5/8 inches in the open crown state. This one thing really sets the 2 hats apart from most of the others, and it dramatically influences the overall look. This is as I stated only my personal opinion, and I am sure not everyone agrees with it. regards, Steve
