I do the same thing with my Drover - placing it on the dash just to look at it. They do look good! I'm working out the rational in my mind so I can justify a Bushman as well. Thanks for the feedback on the modification narrative on IndyGear. I wasn't sure if it would make sense.

FYI - I've found a custom hat maker who says he can dye the lighter Akubra to the same sable brown Stetson offers (Nostalgia, Temple, Ark, et al). Work has been too crazy to get away to talk to him directly, but I'll keep fellow fedora fanatics posted.
