Has anyone used sandpaper on a pre-distressed Wested

I have a pre-distressed Wested treated with Pecards and I love it. I am thinking of maybe taking sandpaper and using it to make it look even more like it does in the movie. Has anyone ever tried this. Or would anyone reccomend me doing or not doing this. I will appreiciate any advice anyone has. Thank You
