Indys firearms....5-45ACP's and 1-9mm....why?///

In the 3 Indiana jones movies Indy had 6 diffrent firearms, 5 of were .45 ACP and 1 9mm. Why the one 9mm? If anyone cares for the details on Indys firearms, such as make, model, calibers ect reply and I will be glad to post it.
