Chasing after that elusive fedora

I really don't think there will ever be a universal agreement on which hatter makes the ultimate fedora. We all have our strong opinions on this matter. Kinda like beauty being in the eye of the beholder. Personally I like the Gary white fedora, because I own one, and because I paid an arm and a leg for it. I also like my new Akubra, vent holes and all, and will wear it often when the temp begins to rise. I, believe it or not, have never had to chase my expensive fedora due to a gust of wind. It is tall enough to really pull that sucker down until my ears are folded over, and it ain't going nowhere. At least so far anyway. I am still searching for a reasonably priced fedora in the right color with at least a 5 5/8 inch open crown, that is not tapered. Supplied with these stats, I can make a fedora that to my eye is right. regards, steve
