1918. The girl's name was Molly, an American school teacher at an orphanage. Indy met her Istanbul, and asked her to marry him. But when she found out he was a spy, she ran off in a fit of rage (they had made love once and she didn't see how she could trust him again). There was a double agent in Indy's cell though, and when Molly was returning to Indy's apartment, she was shot (Molly had been wearing a trenchcoat and fedora, and it was dark, so the assassin mistook her for Jones). Indy killed the double agent, and held Molly in his arms while she died. In her last breath, she told him that she loved him and still wanted to get married.
And now you know the tale of Indiana Jones' fiance.
