Unfortunately, this sort of thing tends to happen all the time at airports all over the world. There have been numerous cases of people who should have known better (ground crew, mechanics) walking into propellers, being ingested into jet engines, etc., etc., I could give you tons of examples. When you're focused on performing a job (be it servicing an aircraft or beating up a certain intrepid archaeologist) it's very easy to forget about those big spinning things on the wing, especially with all the ambient noise out there anyway!
