I really can't see where Ebert is going with that. I have seen most of Ford's other movies, and can say that his acting ability is up there, making characters credible and sound.

The one thing Ebert might be referring to is Ford's placidness in the light of action and cynical sense of humour. That seemed to be echoed a bit in Reeve's character...but I don't think comparing Reeves for his performance as a computer junkie turned cybersuperhero to Ford, famous fro his Indy/Solo/Ryan roles, is fair at all.
