: : Just got off the phone with Jerry. The jackets they currently have "on the bench" being worked on are from the last few days of December through the first week of January. That means I ought to be seeing mine within the next 2 weeks - probably sooner. If you ordered yours sooner, you ought to be getting a tracking number in the next few days.

: : Jerry commented that they have 5 people who are dedicated to the Raider's jackets. That's all they do, and they do it very well. They could be turning these jackets around faster by having other personnel work on them, but he would not be comfortable with the quality, as again these 5 people know these jackets.

: : Just an FYI.

: : Oh, by the way. I found the perfect way to distress your Wested - slightly tongue-in-cheek. More later.

: : Cheers!

: Cool man...thanks! Did any of your conversations with Wested reveal how long it took to manufacture 1 jacket? I'm just curious as to how involved a process it is for one of their craftsmen to do this...

: thanks,

Well, I believe this is how it works:

There are two parts to production of a jacket - cutting the leather and actually making the jacket. Each part is done by individuals dedicated to that part.

I believe workers covered by a specialized labor union in the UK perform the cutting of the leather. I know they have had delays in the past, which were due to union activity of one sort or another. Anyway, I think this dimension of the production activity may add to the timeline. Cutting usually takes a day or so and usually occurs during the first week following the order.

Assembly occurs during the second week. It sound like they can actually assemble and finish a jacket in 2 days if need be. They prefer, however, to take their time to make a quality product.

Hope this helps!

Cheers!

Patterson
