Can't seem to chat at Indygear, help needed...

I am having quite a problem with the chat room at Indygear. I am able to connect, and I see the conversations taking place, and others detect me there (I am S, or S. William), but I am unable to respond. The way my screen is, it shows a box divided into four sections. The top bar is all the selection buttons, the middle left shows the connection and the chats (conversations), the right is a blank white space (equal in size to the left), and the bottom is a blank white space (the length of the bottom). I figured that I would be able to type text in either those white spaces, but I can't get a curser anywhere, may be my settings or something? Help would be appreciated, I would love to talk Indygear.
