: I was watching Raiders this morning as I was waiting for my wife to get ready for church, and had a thought that never crossed my mind before. In the classroom scene, there is a young lady with "love you" written on her eyelids. Originally, I had assumed this young lady had a student/teacher crush, and was just flirting, but now I am not so sure, taking into account the affair Indy had with Marion. Does anyone think that Indy was still up to his old ways of fraternizing with young girls? Seems like this is the rascal side of the character coming out. Any thoughts? regards, Steve

Hey. Indy fraternizing with students?! What a cad! Seriously, though, I always figured that Indy swore off those kinds of relationships after what was no doubt a painful affair with Marion. And I love the look on Indy's face when he notices the writing on that girl's eyelids; sort of a mix of disbelief and utter confusion. Just my two cents.

PS How did she write on her eyelids without putting her eyes out? This was before the mass proliferation of ball-point pens, and before the invention of felt tipped markers. Did she brave blindness at the point of an old fashioned fountain pen simply to declare her devotion to her favorite professor? Ouch!
