Hey. I thought these things too, back when Last Crusade first came out. Throw in a jet-pack, and your post would be my thoughts verbatum. But let's face it; Last Crusade would be pretty boring if it was just Indy sitting around grading term papers... You sum it up nicely with your last line.

: After watching Last Crusade yesterday for the first time in ages it made me wonder why no one had found the grail in the 2000 years it had been missing (Other than the knights).

: Think about it. It's hidden in a canyon shapped like a crescent. I'm sure this isn't easy to miss or forget. Then in the canyon there is an extravagant building face. Not exactly well hidden.

: The three traps could basically be beaten by anyone with enough time and simple equipment. The saws are a simple mechanism, as shown when Indy prevents it from moving. How quickly is it reset after being triggered? Could you get through after triggering it or just push a large object into it to block it? How about a bit of TNT?

: Both the other traps are so simple to get over it's stupid. In fact a ladder would do the trick for both. Just lay it over the letters from one side to the other. The same could be done for the Leap test. If it was a true leap of faith, where there was nothing to step on then this would be a true test. But it gives the impression that there was always a bridge there camoflaged into the surroundings.

: Firstly, simply looking at it from a different angle would reveal the camoflage (this is shown by looking at it from underneath) and it cannot be a true leap of faith because both Elsa and Donovan get into the grail room. Two people who don't even believe in the grail, so would never make the leap of faith.

: It's still a bloody good film though!
