As I think David Keopp will write the screenplay without a book. Judging by how much of the book they used in writing the screenplay for the Lost World there is no need to write a book for JP3. I don't think JP3 would hinder the development of Indy 4 as Spielberg seems to only want his involvment to be minimal. This is what I gather from what I've read and seen so far. I think JP3 will be out by the summer of 2002 at the latest.
