Temple of Doom a prequel?

I just remembered a while back ago I heard that "Temple of Doom", supposely was taken place before "Raiders". Not them actually making the movie. This is why the Nazis aren't in this one. I think this sounds ridiculus, but if anyone knows anything about this, can you please inform me? Thanks alot!
