Why Indy Never Loses His Hat

I just watched the UK Making of video. It's pretty good and a better give-away than a Young Indy video (I got both however, so I'm not complaining.)

In it it says that Lucas and co were trying to re-create the old serials, and that in these serials the heros never lost their hats because, due to the limited time and budgets, it helped greatly with continuity if the hat was always kept on by actors and stuntmen. And it also helped cover the stuntman's face.

It also has some footage of Indy fighting the Sword Wielding Arab guy instead of just shooting him.

Also, anyone who's seen it - That stunt that bloke did with the horses and carriage, where he did a back flip - HOLY SHIT how did he do that?
