There are a few endings - if you just wait, Elsa takes the grail and tries to leave, thus dying and destroying the temple as she crosses the seal (you can then retrieve the grail with your whip, but you have to give it back to the knight to escape). If you take the grail and leave, you will die. If you take the grail before Elsa does, and give it to the night, this results in the highest-scoring ending, as everyone lives and the temple is not destroyed.
