The Temple of Doom, with the exception of the scamble for the antidote in the opening scene, is abysmal. It is NOT funnier than Last Crusade. This is ironic due to the fact that the only way of salvaging any merit from the Temple of Doom is to think of it as a comedy, because no one could take it seriously.

To get back to the topic, I think a subtle funny part of LC is when Indy has fought of the motorcycle troops, is feeling pretty good about himself, looks at his dad for some sign of approval or gratitude, and gets nothing at all. It's completely done with facial expressions and very funny.
"Son I'm sorry, they got us" is also very good.
