OT: bud-arc's Request for Sixth Sense Deleted Scenes

I MEAN IT- "WHATEVER HAPPENS DON'T LOOK!!! KEEP YOUR EYES SHUT!!!!!"

There are 3 deleted scenes and an slightly longer ending.

"Toy Soldiers"
This is a scene where Cole is outside playing with his toy soldiers. As Malcolm watches him, he asks what happened to the soldiers that Cole has covered up with a small piece of cloth. Cole begins to tell him how the men died, and about the families that they were trying to get home to. Cole realizes that Malcolm finds the details unusual and tells him to stop looking at him like that. He makes Malcolm look away.

This scene would have occured right before we see them walking down the sidewalk for the first time. According to the director, it was cut as it would have raised too many questions too early in the film.

A Visit to Mr. Marschal
Cole tells Malcolm that he has to do something, and he takes Malcolm to visit an old man. The man is confused and standing outside looking for his wife, whom Cole tells Malcolm has been dead for years. Inside his apartment, Cole moves some furniture, and retrieves something from inside an air vent grating. He removes a stack of books and gives them to the puzzled old man. They are his wife's diaries. After the apartment, we see Malcolm in his basement talking into his tape recorder. He recounts a story about Vincent Gray once showing him something that he didn't understand, and explains that Cole has just tried to show him something at the old man's which he doesn't understand. But this time he will listen.

This scene would have occured right after Cole and Malcolm cross the street on their first walk. It was a lengthy scene that was to have shown Cole doing what he is ultimately supposed to do- help others.

Return to Mr. Marschal's
This scene is very brief and is the conclusion to the above scene. After Malcolm listens to Vincent Gray on the tape, we see him standing across the street from Mr. Marschal's. Only now, Mr. Marschal is no longer confused, but happy and laughing with friends. Malcolm returned to see if Cole's help had changed this man's life, and it had. This is where Malcolm gets the idea about the ghosts wanting help that he tells Cole in the church.

Extended Ending
After Malcolm tells his wife goodbye, we see her sleeping while the wedding video is still playing. The camera slowing pans around to show the screen, with Malcolm (at the wedding) giving an emotional speech about how much he loves his wife. He is a little drunk (he rhymes some words), and tells the camera to cut as he goes to his wife.

The director explains that this was his favorite scene, and he hated to cut it. He felt that it shouldn't be a sad ending, but the happier one we see in the film. He also knew it wasn't necessary, as Malcolm had already said goodbye to his wife.

Another deleted scene that is mentioned, but not included, occurs during the anniversary dinner. As Malcolm talks, there is a waitress visible in the background. Originally, she was going to flirt with a waiter as she walked by Malcolm and his wife. This was to demonstrate two people at the beginning of a relationship, while these other two people are at the end of one.

One last thing to look for in the film, which is very cool, is the use of the color red. It is used anytime the spirit world comes into contact with the real world. I won't spoil all of them, but two examples are the red door knob to Malcolm's office and the red baseball caps as Malcolm and Cole walk down the sidewalk.
