I think Indy would've been pretty melancholy if Bogart had ever played him. He would've sighed wearily right before he shot the Cairo swordsman. I also think Robert Mitchum could've played Indy back in the 1950s. He was awesome.

: I would like to send a big THANK YOU to everyone who answered my POLL. I had an idea we were scattered all over the globe but now I have proof. Now do y'all want another one? Which actor of the 30's and 40's most exemplifies the Indy image. My vote goes to the ultimate movie tough guy Humphrey Bogart. I can imagine him in the South American jungle after being chased by the boulder he looks up sees Belloq and says. "Of all the temples and all the dig sites in all the world, why'd ya havta walk into mine?"
