: I think it is a bad idea for the Indy films to be released on DVD.
Why? Personally I would love to see my alltime favorite films on the best available home format to view.
: First, the films are very old and will not look good in the DVD format.
Not true. DVD will digitally enhance the films, it's almost like a mini Special Edition.
: Second, very few people own DVDs so it makes no sense for Lucasfilm to produce that format.
Several million people own DVD players either on there computer or a player. I own one of each, and I know several people (including me) who have them (or don't have a player) and would love to get the Indy DVDs.
: Third, videotape is a superior medium.
Let me be frank. Compared to DVD, video is a pile horse shit.
: Fourth, DVD is going to be replaced soon with a superior technology.
True, Hi-Def DVD should come around in about 3-5 years. But still, the best format may not catch, if many people already have DVD players(Just like VHS beat Laserdisc, the better format).
: Fifth, Lucas doesn't need the money.
He certainly doesn't... Maybe Speilberg does...
:
: I don't think any of you can come up with even one reason why Indy should be on DVD. Can you?
Yeah : )
: Later,

: Montana Ted
