: : : : I've read everyone praising the lambskin Wested, but does anyone have one in cowhide? I'm wanting to order a Wested, but I don't know if the light weight lambskin would stand up to abuse like a regular jacket.

: : : All the info you are looking for can be found in the 'vault'. Use the new 'search function'. Ciao, Fall Guy

: And, how do you like it? I ordered an undistressed lambskin LC myself, because I wanted a cooler [regarding temperature, not looks!] jacket. I'm not worried about the thinner leather of the lambskin, as I have worn a similar jacket troublefree [minor one easily fixed mishap] for over 10 years. Fall Guy
: PS: I found the vault very useful in finding all kinds of useful information on the Wested versions. That was BEFORE the new search function!

The cowhide is a great jacket. Comparing it to the lambskin is really an exercise in apples and oranges. If I were to only have one, I’d go for the lambskin. It is lighter and very soft – but every bit as durable. The cowhide feels more substantial, but it’s just a perception of the weight of the jacket – it is much heavier. As far as whether one is hotter or cooler as compared to the other – it’s a fallacy. The lining will have more impact there, as the cotton does tend to breath a bit better compared to the satin.

Bottom line: I like having one of each!

Cheers!
