: : I’ve noticed the same, particularly with respect to shrinkage. My Nostalgia, which used to have such a nice untapered look, now looks pretty much like the tapered block of a Temple. Too bad – I was a very nice hat when it was new. The Akubra, on the other hand, has seen quite a bit of hot sun and sweat as well as torrential downpours. If anything, it looks better. Yes, it is definitely a work hat!

: Indygear lists several different Akubras. Which, if any, are a good match for the Indy fedora? And how expensive are they?

Personally, I like the Drover. The particular one I picked up at David Morgan's had an unusually high crown - about 6 1/4 unbashed. This could have been due to the crown being proportional to the size of the hat - 7 5/8. Anyway, you can see mine on IndyGear. It's a bit light in color, but it is a teriffic hat.
