The .45 ACP was the U.S. service ctg. The Eley is designed for Revolvers, while the .45 ACP is designed for auto pistols and SOME revolvers(1917 S&W and Colt). The reason the Raiders revolvers have a 4" barrel is that is what the prop man selected from the inventory at Bapty's Rentals. When Stembridge Gun Rentals was asked to copy the 2nd Model Hand Ejector in .455 Eley, they used a 1917 S&W Iin .45 ACP. Same gun, different caliber. Hope this helps. Dr.Brody
