Good God. Enough about Indy's emotional side already. This is a 40s era character. Not a Kinder-Gentler-90s-Sensitive Sap. Modern society has virtually emasculated the bulk of today's men. Let's not have this crap destroying the past as well.

If (and we can only hope) they make another of these films, Indy should be the same bachelor he's always been and will always be. Set his jaw - get it punched a few times, and then do a little unattached trysting with the female lead. Anything else would suck.
