: : Why didn't Indiana Jones get drafted into the war? Was he one of the fortunate people? Did his numeber come in too late? One would think that he had a good chance of being drafted. Wasn't he drafted into WWI and was sent to Europe? How come he didn't get picked for WWII? Lucky dog, isn't he?
: Well, we really don't know, do we. The three movies took place before America was involved in the war, and for that fact, war wasn't really rolling in Europe yet during the datelines of the trilogy, so we don't know what happened to him during the 40's. As to WWI, he volunteered, based on the YIJC ,in the Belgium army, so no, he wasn't drafted there either.
Well, there has been a long standing practice in the Armed services to not draft the only son!! Perhaps, the truth lies there!!
