: : : Actually, my first fedora was the cheap $40 one from Jawa Trader (also made from wool felt) and I completely soaked it and re-formed the crown crease on top (to replace the stupid teardrop shape) and put a Raider's knife edge crease on it, and to this day (about a year later) that same shape is still in it!! Cold water, that's the key...

And allow to dry in dark cool spot at room temperature. Wool will shrink terribly if dried in sun or heat. It's been so long since I've fooled with a wool hat I had forgotten the cold water trick. Thanks for reminding me of that old ploy. Regards. Michaelson
