It's probably a reference

Kevin Smith is a known Star Wars fan, so naturally he's probably an Indyfan too. And in Clerks (the movie) Randal said "No time for love, Dr. Jones!" so it wouldn't be his first Indy reference, either. I always assumed it was a reference.
