It's my understanding that only the Australian version has the vent holes so if you bought one from David Morgan for example it should be the US version and therefore without them. That said mine just arrived from Hatsdirect in Australia and therefore should be the Australian version but it doesn't have the holes.

They changed the leather hat band to a ribbon. Gosgrain I think and it's a bit narrow but a nice gesture even though I didn't tell them it was for an Indy conversion.
